Nicely stated. I think it wouldn't hurt to send this to ATI somehow. I used their feedback page (http://apps.ati.com/linuxDfeedback/) to say thanks. I'm sure they got soundly thumped for their previous policy, so saying thanks for the new one is only appropriate.
