 they do have. Windows allows dropping files between applications (and, I
think, text, too), and some Linux or Unix Window managers I've heard about
(was it Gnome? GTK?) also support dropping stuff between applications. So,
SuperCard's D&D syntax isn't going to be of use for MetaCard at least, and
will also cause a problem when OpenCard gets to that state of being.

 I know that MacOS supports much more, and of course I also want OS-level
APIs that allow taking advantage of platform-specific features, but there
should be some standard identifiers that will work cross-platform.
