Hi all,

Just a few words about the look and feel of xubuntu.

I think, the time is right to decide upon its color
scheme and create a distinctive character for xubuntu
. In terms of colors, I vote for blue; this is why;
blue suggests lightness and solidity (especially if we
make it a kind of metallic blue). Anyhow, I've already
created some wallpapers for your consideration in the
spirit of simplicity to make them mach to the other
ubuntu flavors; you can look at them on the Viki page.

I've also created a login screen, but that is just a
kind of concept. Let me know what you think about
them.

I also like the blue and the current logo. IMHO using blue doesn't make it easy to confuse with kde.
I like the original wallpaper better than the steel ones, and it is closer to what xfce comes by default too.

It'd be better if art team members and maybe even upstream xfce people would put their heads together
and decided on what could best reperesent xfce/ubuntu from an art POV. Maybe we could do a poll on launchpad
if there are camps suggesting different directions

Again, as with documentation and translation interested persons should take the matter in their hands, and start coordinating either on this list or on ubuntu-doc, rosetta, wherever they feel comfortable.

thanks
