Hi Team, Today I asked the community about the oldest PCs they are running Xubuntu on, and the results can be seen at the links below. https://www.facebook.com/xubuntuusers/posts/2791757004206522 https://twitter.com/Xubuntu/status/1255768852715180033
Here are some of the lowest specs pulled from the links above. Intel Celeron 462 Mhz, 512MB RAM, Came with Windows 98 Intel Celeron M 900 MHz, 1GB RAM, Came with Asus Linux Intel Atom N270, 1GB DDR2 RAM, Came with Windows XP Home We can also utilize minimum requirements from other distros as a guide, like Linux Mint, Linux Lite and Drauger OS Pentium M 1.0GHz, 1GB RAM, 8GB HDD - https://ubuntu-mate.org/about/requirements/ 1Ghz CPU, 786MB RAM, 8GB HDD - https://www.linuxliteos.com/download.php#requirements x86 Processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB HDD - https://peppermintos.com/guide/downloading/ I did a test with Xubuntu 18.04.3 installed in a VM with 1 CPU Core, 512MB RAM, 20GB HDD and 1GB Swap and it seemed to run fine for basic tasks, though it a single core of a Intel i5 Gen 4 @ 3.6GHz. Looking at these details, maybe we dont need to modify the minimum specs, but likely we should mention a minimum and recommended processor.
