Well, I finally got whatever was preventing my upgrade (my topic from a
few days ago) and upgraded inline from 16.04 to 18.04.2 last night. No
real errors, etc., but I've been cleaning up some of the virtually
inevitable side-effects of upgrading a customized / tweaked system. One
of them has me stumped at the moment, take a look at this screenshot:

http://pages.suddenlink.net/lenphilpot/img/GTK-blue.png

I'm guessing it's maybe a GTK issue, but since it's on Xubuntu I'm
starting here. It doesn't look this way on all apps, not even all GTK
apps from what I can tell. For example, I'm writing this in Evolution
and it looks fine (and Evo is GTK-based, right?). MenuLibre and Geany
look normal, too but not others. So far, changing desktop and window
manager themes hasn't made a difference; Xfce components seem to be OK.

I've renamed all my user GTK 2/3 config files / dirs I found, one by
one, but it's made no difference. If I run the same programs as root
they look the same, so it's at the system level.

I have no problem with resetting GTK prefs however that's done but I'm
not sure where to start at the system level. The upgrade was a "nothing
to lose" process (vs. a clean install) anyway but of course the farther
I get with making stuff 'right' again, the less I want to start over if
possible. It's kind of a tough issue to Google, too, without getting
mountains of irrelevant hits.

Any suggestions, things to try?

Thanks.
