Good afternoon everyone.
I apologize in advance if I am breaking any rules, but the frustration of
not being able to install
version 24.04 of Xubuntu leads me to ask for help.
I have never used Linux, so I am completely new to the subject.
The attached images reveal the situation that is happening to me.
Explaining
The machine, as you can see in the image00, meets the minimum requirements
for installation.
So I downloaded the image "xubuntu-24.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso"
Then created the DVD from the iso
A real physical DVD? Gosh. Any particular reason?
The 80Gb disk, after installing Windows, was divided, leaving more than
30Gb for installing Xubuntu.
I prepared the machine to boot from DVD, and reboot it with the dvd
inserted.
The first screen appears, in which I chose to install Xununtu
After a few seconds the image appears, which you can see in image01
You can't send attachments to mailing lists. If you really need to share
pix, then put them on a free image hosting site such as Imgur, and then
share links.
I thought, it's going to take a while, so I left the machine running, even
though the dots on the
screen were turning on and off.
After 3 hours the situation was the same... strange...
I turned off the machine, checked the DVD and restarted the process.
After several attempts, a little disoriented, I pressed the "Esc" key and
to my surprise the screen
reflected in image02 appeared.
Again, we don't know. Tell us in words if you can.
I don't know what's going on and I would appreciate anyone's help if
possible.
As we don't know we can't.
General advice:
* Always share full specs of your machine in your post.
* Check your system firmware is 100% current. If it is not, update it.
* Maybe use a USB key if you have one?
* Format the key with Ventoy for an easier experience.
