Although I don't like to side with Ian, because I believe that the
ability to trademark a meaningful acronym is ridiculous, I just had a
quick look on mozilla.org:

In particular he is referring to the first paragraph on trademarks.

It is also worth noting that Ian's name can be seen on a fair number of
XUL-related documents on mozilla.org, indicating he is a contributer to
both it's design, implementation, and documentation.

Perhaps we should move from XUL to XUM (XML User-Interface Markup,
pronounced 'Zoom') which, whilst an admission of defeat, would satisfy
this rather annoying scenario.  Either that or you should host your
website in Hungry and then Ian has no right whatsoever to claim
juristiction over your use of the term.
