The group I work for is responsible for work on the core X server,
all the X.org-based clients & libraries, Mesa, VNC, and most everything
else you see in the X gate, including the build & maintenance of the
gate itself. As of earlier this year our group also includes the
people working on SPARC graphics drivers & OpenGL for SPARC.

We integrate updates from X.Org to the X gate for the x86 drivers,
but engineering on those is done by Sun's x86 driver team. That
team also handles working with IHV's like nVidia & Aspeed on their
driver integrations, either via updates to the open source drivers
or integration of closed drivers like nvidia's. Another part of
the x86 driver team handles the DRI/DRM integration to the ON gate.

Keyboard tables and some fonts are delivered by the
localization/globalization teams through their gate.

As far as I know, no one at Sun is working on or has any plans around
Gallium3D, beyond whatever we get automatically with integrating Mesa
updates.
