Good luck! The Open Source Radeon driver is currently much, much better than the proprietary Catalyst driver and has been since Fedora C3, the last time it worked properly, at least on my hardware (Mobility 9600). It takes them so long to come up with revised drivers that they are obsolete by the time they come out. It would be great if you could get AMD to fix the terrible Catalyst GUI, rationalize the bizarre aticonfig utility, and actually get the ATI drivers to work properly again, but your market is smaller than Linux and they don't seem to be very interested in Linux, so I wouldn't hold my breath. On the other hand Radeon users would have a huge incentive to use Open Solaris over Linux if the ATI drivers could be made to work as well there as they did a few years ago on Linux :-)
