Hi Niveditha, in the mean time I had already started the upgrade to Build 108.
After the upgrade, I have copied your inte-Drivers on the new Build 108 system. The xorg.conf contains now the workaround for the keyboard and uses the intel driver instead of the i810 I formerly used. And now the X-System comes up again. The external monitor is in operationaln state and can be combined with the LCD-Display via xrandr. The GDM-Login screen is now on both screens VGA and LCD-Display of the laptop centered. On Build 106 the login on the LCD-Display was not centered. So I have to thank you a lot and can say, that your driver is working for me. Wish you a nice day Ewald On Thu, Feb 26, 2009 at 6:11 PM, Niveditha Rau <Niveditha.Rau at sun.com>wrote: > Could you please try the attached intel drivers on your system to see if > your problem with starting X on 855 with build 107 is resolved? > > %cp intel_drv.so.32 /usr/X11/lib/modules/drivers/ > %cp intel_drv.so.64 /usr/X11/lib/modules/drivers/amd64/ > > Thanks > Niveditha > > Ewald Ertl wrote: > > Hi, >> >> for anyone else interested: Switching to the VESA driver in the xorg.conf >> lets come up a display and Build 107 runs. >> >> Regards >> Ewald >> >> On Fri, Feb 20, 2009 at 8:45 AM, Ewald Ertl <ewald.ertl at gmail.com<mailto: >> ewald.ertl at gmail.com>> wrote: >> >> Hi Niveditha, >> >> I have attached the following files: >> o) xorg.conf_backup : this is my xorg config on Build 106.
