Our X11R7.4-merge project gate has now had most of the driver updates
checked in (thanks Jay & Niveditha!) and now the Xorg server update to
1.5.1.
The last big pieces remaining are the Mesa update to 7.2 (GLX & DRI
are disabled in Xorg until that's in) and the Xvnc update to build
against the the Xorg 1.5.1 sources.
So far, all of this isn't tested - we're still working on the first
step of getting it all to build together, so don't get too excited yet.
(Don't even think this is getting into 2008.11 - the X code freeze for
build 101 is just a week away now, and there's far too much to do still
to rush this in at the last minute, including actually testing it. We're
planning on getting this in for 2009.04 and having it in IPS repo updates &
SXCE builds sometime between 2008.11 & 2009.04.)
I happily note the large number of patches listed below as deleted, but
there's still too many left. So far we've dropped from 69 patches applied
against Xorg 1.3 to 36 applied against Xorg 1.5.1, but making those all
work with the Xorg 1.5 sources, took me a good portion of the last two weeks,
so I'll be asking our developers to take hard looks at the remaining patches
to figure out why we're still differing from upstream and which should be
merged upstream or dropped from our builds.
