Alan, list: I started messing with the pkgdefs only 4 days ago. Many things had changed in the meantime (since April). I don't get everything perfect in a hurry. But I dislike imperfectness. Hence the deferral. Especially the SUNWxorg-mesa pkg is not as good as I would like it to be. And additionally I merged in misc. new clients and libs and fonts and .pc files. Wich has lead to many unanswered questions (see your prev. mail). Another factor: At first many things weren't working/weren't available on/for sparc. Now they *are* present (e.g. Mesa***, all the input drivers). This suggests moving from "prototype_[com|i386|sparc]" to one common "prototype" file for almost all SUNWxorg* packages (via your predefined $plat_64 variable, in order to not being required to explicitly name ISA-specific names in a common prototype file).
What do you want me to do? Instant release? Or perfect solution? Or both? I'm disappointed and regret it, that it all takes that long. But it has some complexity in it, too much for an out-burned single-one. %m This message posted from opensolaris.org
