Money ... Future sales, demand. (previous customers do not count?) SUNW is not interested in making Xorg on sparc more usable (hw compatibility). X.org - ML has (according to what they have told me) primarily only interest in Linux (in contrast to XFree [which is unfortunately considered the bad guy due to their licensing changes after circa 4.3.99]). A proposal on xwin-discuss to potentially set up a project/forum/community dedicated to Xorg at sparc at opensolaris.org remained unreflected. Probaly true: "Those who didn't respond" are not only very brilliant, but also older, already(!) much more skilled and experienced, than a few "newcomer amateurs" like myself (if that is what you think). You may also be much more focused towards X-Windows in general. But are you willing to spend your summer by working for free?? Probably not. Opensol community members however may well be. And this is Xorg at sparc's chance. OPEN-solaris does not depend on "customer demand". At least not in order to make small addition to the system/process that is already running anyways. ### MRTXxorg package is due in spring 2007. With the limited features and hw support I can accomplish alone. I will also set up that forum there on www.martux.org. But probably not before I have spring holidays ... :-(
