I wait and see if the community steps forward with something more than talk.
A first step would be someone gathering a list of people committed to working
on it, and going through the opensolaris project creation process to get
yourself a mailing list and source repository setup.
I don't have much spare time at the moment, and work to release Xsun sources
would come out of my spare time, not as a management sponsored project, so I
can't promise when sources would be released. (The source release process
involves verifying that each source file has no encumberances and then adding
the open source license notice to any files with Sun created code that doesn't
already have it. Fortunately, much of the core Xsun code is from the X11R6
sources, so is already open source.)
