Question #403713 on Yade changed: https://answers.launchpad.net/yade/+question/403713
Status: Open => Answered Jérôme Duriez proposed the following answer: Hello, Please better close the initial question and open a new one if you want to substantially change your question: now your comment #1 has little to do with the question. This being said, most often people perform YADE simulations using also some numerical damping through damping attribute of NewtonIntegrator engine [*], which is a second source of energy dissipation (in addition to plastic sliding at the contact scale). Note this damping is a pure numerical trick, without any physical meaning. (See few comments in previous questions or the DEM literature) [*] https://yade- dem.org/doc/yade.wrapper.html#yade.wrapper.NewtonIntegrator.damping -- You received this question notification because your team yade-users is an answer contact for Yade. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~yade-users Post to : yade-users@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~yade-users More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
