*MESSAGE OF THE YOUNG COMMUNIST LEAGUE ON THE FUNERAL OF COMRADE KGOMOTSO
MOGORE.*

*By Deputy National Secretary Khaye Nkwanyana.*

24 January 2009.

Mogore family and relatives,

The Leadership of SASCO,

The Leadership of our congress movement, and

All other protocols are being observed.

Lastly everyone present today.

We will never get so saturated as human kind, as to accustom to the passing
on of anyone within our fold, No less when that person is of greater value,
a rare species and one who was born for a particular mission.

This is the case despite of the fact that we all know that we are, in fact,
all mortal beings.

The saying has always been that the young buries the old. But the opposite
is true not to the Mogore family but to many in our country as young people,
daily, departs from the World of the living.

The Young Communist League (YCL) learnt with excessive shock the car
accident and the subsequent loss of life of SASCO Deputy General Secretary.
This is not a loss to the family and SASCO alone but to all of us as the
Progressive Youth Alliance and the Alliance as a whole. This was the leader
of our students and the youth in general of this country. Accordingly, as
the Young Communist League, we lower our banner as we pay homage to the
great leader that we have been robbed in his so tender an age, a person of
greater value, a rare species and one who was born for a particular mission.

The current leadership of SASCO to which Kgomotso was very much part, like
the ancient Noah and his arch in the holy script tasked to save animal
species from the God contemplated human savaging floods, represent a
generation that has salvaged SASCO from the deadly political floods
traversing the entire alliance which had to be defeated in the ANC
conference at Polokwane. So savage and deadly those floods as were
represented, demonstrably, by the leadership of SASCO that most of us, at a
time, feared to even mention that we are what we are, politically, the
product of SASCO.

The membership of SASCO in the last Congress said that never shall it be
that the scavengers will continue successively be elected to lead and feed
on its carcass in the interest of forces of reactionary camp. Today SASCO
lives and SASCO leads.

We pay homage to one of our collective own, a person of greater value, a
rare species and a son born for a particular mission. We should mourn the
loss of any cadre as it takes time and years to produce a fine cadre, no
less a leader at a capacity of leadership to which Kgomotso Maroge led.
Indeed one is equal too many.

As we surrender him to the prepared space in the soil for permanent rest, we
should draw solace to the fact that, he departed as a joyous cadre of the
organization for he led and won the lobby that all of us went through and
left to succeeding generation of leadership, the move towards implementation
of the Free and Compulsory Education up to the Tertiary level. He was part
of the move towards what we are to build, the formation of the National
Youth Development Agency (NYDA) replacing docile structures such as Youth
Commission and Umsobomvu Fund. He was gratified to see the increased
recognition of young people within the alliance and their role in shaping
the landscape of which he was very much part. He was also confident that the
ANC will win overwhelmingly in the next coming elections despite the
emergence of the Judas Iscariots marketing themselves as Congress of the
People. He had no doubt that we will finish them to extinction. If there is
anything in honour to Kgomotso's memory is to go out and mobilize for the
ANC victory. People must be told the truth that ANC will improve education
and Health in this country for the poor, ANC will electrify our rural
country-sides which have remained the enclaves of our ugly past in the
present. People must be told that ANC will increase child support grants
progressively in terms of age beneficiation, that we will create more jobs
through EPWP and in other interventions.

We must debunk lies peddled by COPE against the movement that we have
departed from the Freedom Charter. In fact we must call it in its real
character as the reincarnation

of the Nationalist Party in the form of black skin pigmentation in its
leadership. After their defeat, they will consume themselves like a wounded
snake that expedites its death out of unbearable pains from wounds! That is
why F.W De Klerk, yesterday, poured insults to the ANC about its decision to
recall the President and he goes further to be pleased in the formation of
COPE which he sees as will give the ANC a run in the coming elections. We
want to say De Klerk you are nothing but an anachronism of the bygone past
that only live and survive through our tax money because of being the former
President.

Such De Klerk sentiments are similar to those of Arch bishop Tutu, our
yesteryear hero and today's reactionary. He has even announced that he will
never vote this year. We hope that he will never open his mouth on any issue
about government because he would have forfeited his right to voice by not
voting. In fact we do not care about him.

We want thank all of those in the organization, different components of our
MDM who might have had a contribution to his political growth.

* *

We once again salute comrade Kgomotso and the contribution he made, while he
was still alive, to the struggle for young people. The family rather be
proud that they were fortunate to have ever gave birth to a being so brought
to for a particular mission, a young person but no usual a young person but
a rare young, and a young of greater value to our revolution.

May his soul rest in peace,

Robala ka hotso comrade Kgomotso.
