*YCL to hold its National Lekgotla* *Thursday 19 February 2009*
The Young Communist League of South Africa [uFasimba] will be holding its National Lekgotla in Booysens Hotel & Conference Centre, Booysens, as from Friday 20 February –until- 22 February 2009. The political significance of this National Lekgotla is being convened in the midst of the forthcoming 2009 national and provincial elections, the historic ANC Alliance elections manifesto launch and the 15th Anniversary of our freedom and democracy. The National Lekgotla will discuss the following key and critical issues: 1. YCL's perspective and action on the forthcoming 2009 national and provincial elections; 2. Analysis of the ANC Manifesto, ANC Parliamentary List process in lieu of the 2008 May Alliance resolution of re-affirming the Alliance as the political centre of power and influence; 3. The enactment into law the National Youth Development Agency Bill by President of the Republic and the struggle for a seamless and coordinated youth development agenda; 4. The recent formation of the government of national unity in Zimbabwe; and the ongoing struggle for freedom and democracy in Swaziland; 5. The ongoing military onslaught unleashed by the US allies against the innocent people of Palestine; 6. Receive political and organisational Report from the National Secretariat since last 2008 National Council. *NB:* Members of the media are hereby requested to attend the open session of the National Lekgotla to listen and cover the Political Overview Report which will be delivered by YCL National Secretary Buti Manamela on behalf of the National Committee of the 2nd National Congress.
