Cde Mdu

your point is loudly and clearly, you know there is something i hate to the ANC
,when it comes to election, they fully understand the existence of ALLIANCE and
then after election we are being so called by so many names...well i'm failing
to understand why are we not using our third majority as to fulfill our
commitment ...you look at our Land Expropriate Bill etc is not functioning at
all ...really comrades is long way to go with our Democracy and we are failing
to analyze the situation that is happening in our African countries...maybe our
leaders wants us to have the same situation of Zimbabwe...LAND is one of the
very sensitive issue that need to be attended in a very strategic way.....and
the majority of Land is still in the hands of white people...you look at the
Western Cape...these Liberals are still occupying big Land and our government
is doing nothing about that...where as poor of the poorest are still flocking
in the Native Yards....another point that need to be analyze is that our
deploying right candidates to parliament or not....or we are deploying people
that are having self- interest in parliament.....I fully with you , my comrade,
that we should not look at winning the election...what is important is the
service delivery that must be delivered to the poor of the poorest
....socio-economic issues need to be attend and there is no-negotiations about
that...

Cde Malusi, et al

The sunset clause that resolved the cul-de-sac during negotiations needed the
ANC to have two third majority in parliament in order to amand the constitution
on property relations and to pass a land expropriation bill into an act of
parliament and remove the compromises made in codesa. The ANC failed to get two
third majority in 1994 and 1999 but achieved that in 2004. How the two-third
was used is a cause for concern. Remember the expropriation bill was withdrawn
from parliament last year and the question should be, why?

The other question should be to assess how all the bills (enacted as Acts)
passed in parliament (during the two-third majority term) intervened in
eradicating poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, underdevelopment and other
social ills. It is only after such an assessment one can make a conclusion as
to whether the two-third majority was profitably used to benefit the poor or
not. I am raising this deep rooted questions knowing that triumphalists will
fail to engage but attack me on raising such a reality questions.

The pace is informed by the willing buyer, willing seller principle as outlined
in the property clause of the constitution. The target will not be met as long
as the two third majority is not used to ensure that land should be taken back
to their rightful owners. It is a disgrace to a democratic country like ours to
fail to resolve the land issue. Land is a primary economic asset, if owned by
people of foreign nations, South Africans will continue to watch helplessly as
its resources get depleted by the capitalists.

Of the 4% of the land redistributed on a little piece is developed because
there is no proper transition made from the previous to the current owners.
Skills on nature conservation, land nurturing and plantations, industrial
corporations management still lies with the capitalists. A major training is
enevitable if we are to get our land back and use it productively.

The working class and the poor should not be just happy about winning
elections. These elections shall provide pragmatic steps in ensuring that the
land issue is resolve, education or rather the curriculum speaks to the current
societal challenges and mineral resources including water are use effectively
and efficiently to benefit the working class and the poor.

These elections should not be about who becomes president, it should be about
whether the goals set in the manifestos are achievable or not. Its time organic
intellectuals provide solutions to both the land and education issues and the
rest will follow. if the two third will be used as it was used, then the
question is: Why do the organisation need two third? In short, to do what with
it?

Society need land and free education. Education that will respond to the unique
South African Challenges free of ruling class influence. Education that will
create a patriotic selfless graduates who will proactively contribute to the
development of the country and consequently its neighbouring countries. Can we
make our votes speak the tone of the machine guns used in exile? Can we make
our votes change the status quo of greedy politicians who want to swing with
chairs and loot government resources meant to develop the poor communities?

I hope that revolutionaries understand the path with which one is taking. Lets
engage!!

My dear Comrades

what is our view regarding the slow progress of Land Reform programme ? do we
see it as one of the programme that can elevate poverty or bring changes to the
poor of the poorest ?

my view is very simply...it's long way to go as long as we still have
old-apartheid people still driving the programme...if we look at the target
percentage (30 % ) by 2014,we can't meet it because now we are around 4
%....its a big challenge for all the revolutionalist of SA before people are
getting tired and took the Zimbabwe -route...that's my view
