SABC board chairperson Kanyi Mkhonza resigned following a board meeting on Thursday, the broadcaster announced.
"(Mkhonza) has decided to step down from this position in the interest of the SABC. She will however continue to be a member of the Board," said spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago in a statement. In the meantime, board member Ashwin Trikamjee has been appointed as acting chairperson of the board. Kganyago said this matter had been communicated to the SABC's shareholder, the Department of Communications. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You are subscribed.
