Dear Editor/Fellow Comrades
The Citizen (17 December 2009) article titled “SACP’s depths get shallower by
the day” is devoid of a true revolutionary cadre and a real mafelandawonye
(people who die together). The biggest question was our learned comrade was
deployed by whom? from which branch? And why didn’t he raise issues of behalf
of those he claims are marginalized? For the record I was part of the august
event of our lifetime in which it was characterized by robust debates aimed to
shape resolves on challenges facing us in the current conjuncture; inter alia
retrenchments, global capitalist recession, racism at  Pick ‘n Pay, poverty and
service delivery protests.
Perhaps; Thabang Ngwenya are people who are parachuted and claim to be
representatives only to sell the revolution. It is a minimalist analysis to
claim that debates were centered on the General Secretary of the SACP and
comrades could not understand” Monopoly Capital” undermines the intelligence of
all delegates duly mandated by their branches to shape and consolidate working
class power. In the Commission I attended on International Work and Justice
Cluster Transformation, the chairperson was in certain instances requesting
five minutes submission amongst the delegates due to the curiosity and verve to
contribute by all delegates. The first day commission debates were deferred to
the second day to afford maximum participation and reinvigoration of internal
democracy.
Maybe; we may presume Mr. Ngwenya is so-called constitutionalist who wanted to
elect other pseudo-leaders to represent their jackets in the disguise of
fighting for the working class. Could Socialism be implemented by the delegates
that attended the Conference? Yes, I argue that all delegates apart from being
communists are leaders and/or members in their own rights who participate in
activities of their own branches.
The SACP Constitution Clause 4.5 on Guiding Principles vividly outlines that
“Spread the widest possible understanding of basic ideology and its application
to South African conditions; particularly among the working class. And it is on
that basis that Political Education is and has been the cornerstone of SACP
ground work; And perhaps Mr. Ngwenya need to explain in what capacity he
attended the conference and for what motives? I beg to differ with him without
any fear of contradiction. An SACP Member has a duty in terms of clause 5.9.8
“to act in a manner that is frank, honest and truthful to the SACP and does not
betray the confidence of the Party. He misrepresented SACP views and that
should not be left unchallenged! Maybe; the success of the Conference should be
premised on the following grounds; did members debate on issues of retrenchment
effected by drunken system of capitalism? Did the members discuss the effects
of climate change? Did the
members talk about growing inequality in South African Society? If all
question’s answers is Yes; that is a strong sign that SACP is not rhetoric but
Act to shape our society!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are contend that the SACP is on the right path to achieve all sites of
struggles for the working class and Together let’s Fight Capitalist Greed and
Corruption, Together, Build Socialism!
