We condemn this killing in the strongest terms, because no person deserves to be killed regardless of the reasons that could be advanced in justification of the murder. The ANC views this as a matter to be handled by our law enforcement authorities. We call on all South Africans and all political parties not to use Eugene Terre' blanche's death to polarize our nation. We make this call to all South Africans to refrain from making speculative pronouncements on Terre' blanche murder as the perpetrators , who are alleged to be workers at his farm, have handed themselves to the law enforcement authorities, and our police are currently busy investigating the murder. The ANC believes that no amount of reason could justify the killing of Terre' blanche or anybody. South Africa has a progressive constitution that deals with various issues, including the protection of the labour force from its employers. All of us, as citizens of South Africa must uphold the basic human rights as enshrined in our Constitution as a fundamental pillar of our democracy. We appeal for calmness and non-provocation at this time because the police are hard at work in dealing with this matter. The ANC extends its condolences to the Terre' blanche family, his organization and friends.
