Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union will be convening the 07th National 
Congress under the Theme "21 Years of Consolidation of Working Class Power 
within the Criminal Justice" on the 13-16th June 2011 at the University of Free 
State, Bloemfontein.
The Congress as the supreme governing body of the Union will be held in terms 
of 
POPCRU's Constitution Chapter 4, Section 10,Subsection 10.1,10.2 and 10.3 as 
amended in 2007 and will be addressed by, amongst others, POPCRU President-Cde 
Zizamele Cebekhulu, SACP, COSATU and the ANC Leadership.
The Congress will be attended by other International Allies from the African 
Continent and Representatives from the member States of International Council 
of 
Police Representatives Association and Public Services International.
The Congress will be focusing on the progress registered and challenges 
experienced within the South African Police Services, Department of 
Correctional 
Services, Private Prisons and the Traffic Departments across the country where 
we are organizing, as part of consolidation of working class hegemony within 
these sectors of the Criminal Justice. 

Amongst the Discussion Documents that delegates will deal with are;

·        Socio-Economic Perspective Document
·        Political Perspective Document
·        International Perspectives and Symposium Progress Document
·        Financial Report Document
·        Economic Transformation Perspective Document
Briefings have unfolded with all the structures on the progress towards the 
preparations of the Congress. And these documents will be released to all 
structures to prepare adequately for Congress and make clear recommendations on 
what should be the outcome of Congress.
