comrades the statement of ancyl president of saying they will take over
unions and lead workers in their work station is political recklessness.
it is politically correct for the president to understand the character
of the ancyl, because if t remember very correctly, the constitution of
the ancyl spells very clearly that, the structure is the vanguard for
the interest of the youth in this country . it cant be correct that this
statement should be left unchallenged because it had the capacity
mislead and dish out the revolution in which some of workers defended
with their own life. comrades must be taught alliance traditions because
there is a platform were this issues can be debated.

i hold the view that, the president should be hauled before the
disciplinary committee for this reckless statements he continues to
utter. it is known in the structures of the movement that, comrade
president his disciplinary action is long over due. militancy of the
ancyl should no be viewed ill discipline because two concepts are not
the same. the structure has mammoth task to engage in this country
which included national Conference resolution which need to be
implemented radically to advance agenda of the young people, not of the
working class. amandla
SACP, Cosatu slam ANCYL working class leadership plans

Stephen Grootes, EyeWitness News, Johannesburg, 20 June 2011

Both the Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) and the South
African Communist Party (SACP) have slammed the ANC Youth League's plans
to take over their role in leading the working class.

Speaking at the Youth Wings conference in Midrand, Julius Malema said
they will target the workplace. He said workers were failed by the very
organisations that were supposed to represent them.

However, the SACP said the league cannot lead the working class as it
is not a workers' organisation. It said the league can only talk about
land reform because of the programmes the party started in 2005.

Cosatu's Patrick Craven said they reject claims that they are failing
in their mandate.

“We are by far the biggest, most powerful and most influential
organisation representing the workers and I’m quite confident that we
will continue to play that role,” he added.

Cosatu leaders will discuss Malema's claims next week.
