Comrades, Clearly the media is milking this story for all it is worth and they do spice it up and even sensationalize it. The characterisation of the trust as secret is clearly wrong and is, in my view, meant to spice up the story - which is totally unnecessary! Even the way the *City Press* journalist discloses how the name of the trust has been openly displayed publicly is full of negative connotations when he says;
"*We have lot of questions and information to verify since a small bronze plaque, bearing the name Ratanang Family Trust, found its way on to the wall of a church that Malema built in 2009 in honour of his late mother, Mahlodi."* How does a plaque 'finds its way'. But Julius Malema and the ANCYL are overly complicating a simple and straight forward matter by trying to spin their way out of this one. If the sources of income flowing into the trust are legitimate and above board, why not disclose them? It is simply not enough to recount or list the charitable disbursements that the trust has dished out - laudable and good as they are! What is the purpose of the trust, how does it raise funds and who are the funders and/or contributors? Or is that kind of information classified? If you have nothing to hide, why go into all this trouble trying to deflect attention from the real questions that need answers? Forward with lifestyle audits forward! COSATU is spot on - as usual!
