*The beautiful ones are not yet born. *

*Summary*

*The beautiful ones are not yet born* is an excellent, African
literature book written by Ayi Kwei Armh .The book relates the history of
a man who resisted from taking bribes in Ghana. Ghana at that time was ruled
by the son of the soil. The Ghanians that were in charge were rich by taking
bribes from the weak ones. All over the country, if you wanted to succeed,
you had to learn to swim or to corrupt like Joseph Koomson, the ministry.

When the author says in the book “*the beautiful ones are not yet born” *he
is completely right because what he expects is not what is happening. The
nation is dissipated and the only hope is in the new generation.. After
getting independence the native should do better than the colonizers.
However, it is the opposite. So, Ghana is a desperate state and the only
salvation comes from new scholars.

The beginning of the novel is interesting because of the scorn that the man
receives in the bus. It suggests that people were no longer at ease and are
not respected. It is an society that does not have rules. Each one can do
what is going on in his mind.

The interesting character in the book is the teacher and the novel suggests
that people are willing to use illegal ways to be leaders. Furthermore, he
is a wise man who knows that we are free to choose our own fate. He sees
hope at the end of the tunnel by explaining

the *myth of Plato’s* cave that showed two different realities; one of
those who wanted to remain in the darkness and other of those who where
fighting for the country and not for their profit.

The beautiful is always something good; it is something that brings joy and
hope. This was a free. In conclusion, the man resisted from taking bribes
and remain faithful in what he believes. This was the only way that we can
be ourselves and therefore construct a good world rid of violence and
corruption.
