*17 August 2011* The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) Central Committee (CC) is currently underway since Monday 15 August 2011 –ending- Thursday 18 August 2011, Vincent Mabuyakhulu Conference Centre, Newtown, Johannesburg, Gauteng province. This CC is taking place at the backdrop of the US debt crunch, the ongoing popular working class struggles in the United Kingdom, the struggle for a Living Wage by Municipal workers in our country, the release of the National Health Insurance (NHI) Green Paper by Cabinet. The CC will receive the Organisational, Political and International Reports from the National Secretariat, Progress Report on the implementation of the Programme of Action (PoA), pending strikes action at ESKOM, ArcelorMittal and other steel companies.
