*YCL congratulates Malesala Maleka on his appointment as a leader of South African Olympics team. * The Young Communist League of South Africa [Ufasimba] congratulate the National Committee and National Working Committee member of YCLSA Comrade Malesela Maleka on his appointment as Head of Administration for the South African Olympics team for the London Olympics games in 2012. The appointment of Malesela as the head of administration means that he will be working with South African Sport Confederation and Olympic Committee president Gideon Sam. In our view this should not only prepare our team to win 12 medals as envisaged by the President but also serves as a gigantic step toward transformation of sport. As reported by SOWETAN comrade Maleka kick started his involvement on sports circles as a cricket player in the than University of the North. He was elected president of University Sport South Africa after taking the baton from popular Limpopo medic Dr Malumbete Ralethe. He served on one of the subcommittees of the Federation of International University Sport (Fisu). He is also serving as the president of Basketball SA. Having participated in the in sport and having the immense track record in Politic and administrative work comrade Maleka unquestionably a right man for a job. As the YCL we strongly believe that under Comrade Maleka’s leadership the team will achieve its goal of bringing home 12 medals and more. His vast knowledge and expertise in sports administration is much needed considering our teams previous performance at the Olympics. His involvement in the Federation of International University Sport [Fisu] and Basketball South Africa gives us surety that the team is in good hands and will do well in London come 2012. We wish both Comrade Maleka and the teams as they carry the hopes of the nation good luck and believe that they will make us proud.
