This is the major disaster and spells unprecedented hardship for the affected families and people in Duduza. The impact is serious, we call upon Ekurhuleni as a whole and ANC structures in particular to be the first responders to this calamity to ensure that as a community we work together to build, sustain, and improve our capability to protect, respond, and recover from the effects of the tornado. **** ** ** The safety of the affected is the primary issue, as is their mental and physical well being. It is in this regard that assistance is available from government and communities to the families in a form of temporary housing, clothes and food to ensure faster recovery and makes the process less stressful. We further call upon all South Africans and leaders in respective sectors to extend any possible help to the affected families as a humanitarian response to the disaster in this difficult period for Duduza community.**** ** ** When disasters occur they hit the poorest and the most vulnerable the hardest. The state of our planet makes everyone to work hard at preventing, reducing, and mitigating disaster risk.
