SACP Mpumalanga Media Statement, 30 September 2013

Provincial Executive Committee

The SACP Mpumalanga Provincial Executive Committee 5th plenary session of
the 8th Congress met on the 29 September at Mbombela Local Municipality,
Council Chamber to assess its progress on implementing the resolutions of
previous PEC meeting and give content of the current political discourse
provincially, nationally and globally. The meeting received two political
inputs from the 1st Deputy Provincial Secretary, Cde Lucky Mbuyane and
Deputy National Chairperson, Cde Thulas Nxesi where both inputs touched many
issues and amongst other matters the PEC noted the following:

International

The PEC noted that Capitalism is in crisis hence its highest stage which is
Imperialism is being rejected by people throughout the world, including its
epicentre the European Union.

The Syrian question opens our mind in how David Cameron was embarrassed thus
made his counterpart, the master imperialist Barak Obama to avoid the same
embarrassment by not taking the matter to US congress. The western
imperialist continue to fund bandits across the globe and instigate coups
for their selfish interest of looting resources.

The PEC sees a need for SADC to have clear guidelines in terms of their
protocol of supervising elections in respective countries. Their declaration
of free and fair elections in Swaziland defeats the principle of democracy.

We call on the South African government to start playing a pivotal role
with the Swaziland Question and stop their relations with the Mswati regime.
The elections were just an exercise to entrench Tinkundla Regime and
undermine human and political rights of people of Swaziland and further
entrench patriarchy and subject women in that country to modern day slavery.

Provincial Unity

The PEC is committed to build unity of the alliance in the province; however
unity will never come with the SACP being a sacrificial lamb. We are
appealing to the leadership of the ANC in the province to reinstate comrade
Milton Morema as the Speaker of Ehlanzeni District Municipality as agreed in
a political council held on the 8th April 2013, decisions taken must be
implemented and respected in order to build the alliance. Victimisation of
SACP leaders and members will not assist improvement of relations in the
province.

We are once more calling on the National leadership to intervene and assist
the ANC leadership in the province to understand that integrity based on
principle is of paramount importance for mutual trust. We are raising this
matter because the ANC is avoiding meetings that must resolve issues
affecting the alliance in our province.

NUMSA

The key motive force of the struggle for the African revolution, and for a
different socialist world remains the working class. We welcome an
intervention by the ANC and also appreciate commitment from the SACP on
meeting with NUMSA for the purpose of uniting the revolutionary alliance. We
also appreciate that NUMSA is no longer raising issues that affect the
alliance in the public discourse.

The PEC welcomed the Provincial Disciplinary Committee's report on the
outcomes of Ephraim Mogale District Chairperson's, Cde Thomas Ngwenya
disciplinary hearing. The chairperson has been found guilty and suspended
for a period of six (6) months and 12 months without contravening SACP
constitution.

YCLSA

The PEC welcomes without reservation the disbandment of YCLSA PEC and
pledges maximum support to PILC led by Cde Bongi Mtsweni and Cde Danger
Matumane to revive the youth wing of the Party.

Further urge all YCLSA branches to work with PILC and close ranks for those
who are on a permanent onslaught with the SACP in the province. The YCLSA
derive its existence from the SACP and the party will continue to give
political and ideological support necessary to strengthen this vanguard of
youth politics.

ANC Victory 2014

The PEC will be preparing for the Red October National and Provincial
Launches. All the programmes will be in-line with the election campaign for
the ANC LED ALLIANCE landslide victory.

The PEC makes a call to President Jacob Zuma to declare the 2014 general
elections to take place on a holiday, as to ensure all citizens are not
denied a right to vote, especially the peasants and those in retailers. It
will be ideal to celebrate 20years of democracy by voting on the same day
which we obtained the democratic breakthrough.

The PEC affirmed its commitment to campaign for the ANC and deliver a
decisive victory. DA continues to use the plight of blacks to defend the
legacy of monopoly capital, while they have stolen our land and cattle's,
now they want to steal our history by digging a photo for the revolutionary
icon comrade Nelson Mandela and put Helen Suzman next to him just for cheap
popularity.

We will close ranks for all these mushrooming opportunistic parties in the
province. The PYA must rise to the occasion to fight EFF in the province as
it is full of young frustrated, ill-disciplined fellows who want to subvert
the youth's hope to the African National Congress.
