Assault case opened against Julius Malema

Govan Whittles, Eye Witness News, Johannesburg, 26 February 2014

A case of common assault and damage to property has been opened against
Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema following an alleged
road rage incident in Polokwane last night.

Limpopo police have confirmed the case was opened by a motorist after he was
reportedly confronted by Malema and three other men.

He was then allegedly assaulted by Malema and one other man, who were then
arrested.

The police's Hangwani Mulaudzi says they are still investigating the
circumstances surrounding the incident.

"We can confirm we are investigating a case of common assault against Julius
Malema and one other person, the driver. The incident took place yesterday
in Polokwane."

Malema was arrested late last year for allegedly driving at 215km/h in a
120km/h zone on the N1 Highway in the Vaal.
