EFF's Malema investigated for common assault Qaanitah Hunter, The New Age, Johannesburg, 26 February 2014 Economic Freedom Fighter Commander in Chief Julius Malema is being investigated once again. This time it is for common assault after he allegedly assaulted a Polokwane motorist yesterday afternoon. Malema was being driven in a Mercedes Benz C Class when an argument ensued with motorist Bernard Redelinghuys on Munnik Street in Polokwane. Three other passengers in Malema's car allegedly got off and an argument ensued. Redelinghuys alleged that Malema got off the car and intervened where he then allegedly slapped him. Limpopo police spokesperson Hangwani Mulaudzi said a case of common assault was opened. "We are investigating and the matter will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions," he said.
