SACP Gauteng Provincial Executive Committee, Press Statement, 14 February 2015 We condemn the killing of SATAWU Gauteng Provincial Secretary Comrade Chris Nkosi The SACP Gauteng Province strongly condemns the cold-blooded killing of the Gauteng Provincial Secretary of SATAWU, Comrade Chris Nkosi. Comrade Nkosi was gunned down mafia-style in the early hours of the morning in Germiston while on his way home, in what appears to be a premeditated elimination. He was known to be respectful of the SACP and always sought guidance from the Party in difficult times. We also condemn the bombing of the family home of SATAWU President June Dube with a Molotov cocktail. The SACP Gauteng Province takes the opportunity to convey our deepest condolences to Cde Nkosi's family, to all workers in SATAWU, to the federation COSATU and to the alliance in general. We call on law enforcement authorities to act swiftly to bring to book the perpetrators of these evil crimes and to dispense exemplary justice. The Provincial Secretary of the SACP in Gauteng, Comrade Jacob Mamabolo, said "political assassinations are the work of evil, authoritarian and fascist individuals". The SACP in the Province of Gauteng calls for unity of SATAWU members and of workers in general, and for all to denounce violence and join hands.
