WFTU-Africa Condemns Detention, Illegal Deportation of Comrade Alexandra
Liberi

The World federation of Trade Union (WFTU) Africa Region strongly condemns
the harassment, arrest and illegal deportation of Comrade Alexandra Liberi
on Saturday 13th June 2015 by 15 Zionist police at the Tel Aviv Airport.
Comrade Alexandra was on official WFTU solidarity duty, to participate in a
seminar of the federation on IT and internet training of young unionists.

She was accosted, harassed by rude police officials who attempted to intrude
her privacy and confiscate her personal belongings. She spent over 11 hours
in Israeli custody before her deportation as "an enemy of the Israeli
state".

Heinous attacks on women and children are a reactionary characteristic of
Zionist apartheid state of Israel. Such attacks at the hands of vicious
Israeli Defence Force and police with tacit state approval are a daily
encounter by Palestinians.

We call on all workers to struggle in defence of the right of Palestinian
people to statehood and to pledge their firm solidarity with resistance to
the occupation. The occupation has hitherto been enforced through Zionist
terror policies of aggression and massacres of Palestinian people.

The WFTU expresses our commitment to intensify solidarity actions for the
struggle of the Palestinian people by demonstrations at Israeli foreign
missions in South Africa and across other countries in the African
continent.
