EFF denies causing violence in Dunoon

Iavan Pijoos, News24, Cape Town, 22 April 2016

The EFF accused DA provincial leader Patricia de Lille on Friday of blaming
its members for violence in Dunoon.

"We want to make it clear to the public in Dunoon that they should not be
used by politicians to poison their brains," regional EFF leader Tlhabanelo
Diholo said.

He said De Lille was spreading rumours in the media that the EFF was causing
havoc in the area.

"We are meeting foreign nationals to clear the air that we are not fighting
against them," Diholo said.

The EFF considered foreigners as family and they were more than welcome in
the country, he said.

Dunoon residents have been protesting for several weeks. A community hall
and a local ward councillor's offices were set alight.

Foreign-owned shops were looted and damaged and the MyCity bus service was
disrupted.
