Morning Star.png All power to the people! - Caracas march "Struggle against recolonisation is the order of the day!" The Morning Star, London, 25 April 2016 Left-wing political and social groups marched in capital Caracas on Saturday under the banner: "All power to the people!" and against the "fascism, betrayal and corruption" of the country's rising right wing. Organisers said the US-backed Democratic Unity Roundtable (Mud) alliance of parties was trying to use the two-thirds majority it won in the national assembly in December to undo the work of the democratic Bolivarian revolution started by Hugo Chavez. Mud leader Henry Ramos Allup has vowed to oust socialist President Nicolas Maduro before his term finishes and has publicly set out a plan to do so. But the Alexis Vive Collective's Ana Marin told a press conference: "Yankee imperialism is driving this dispute using all the weapons of its political and military arsenal. "The struggle against recolonisation and conservative restoration is the order of the day in Bolivia, Ecuador, Brazil and Venezuela." The Communist Party of Venezuela said that Venezuelans were "protagonist soldiers in the struggle for a world without neocolonialism where peoples can realise their potential without imperialism or wars of plunder."
