ANCYL calls for soldiers to be unleashed against EFF

The ANC Youth League (ANCYL) yesterday called for the commander-in-chief of
the SANDF, President Jacob Zuma, to unleash his soldiers on the Economic
Freedom Fighters (EFF).

This week in a widely televised exchange Malema said: "We will remove this
government through the barrel of a gun."

Yesterday the youth league held an NEC post briefing in Luthuli House where
its secretary general, Njabulo Nzuza, told reporters that the Young Lions
were more than ready to take on the EFF.

"We do not believe Malema's expulsion is haunting the (ANC) party. It was
good. We do not need such characters.

"We are fully aware that the EFF is heavily funded to run renegade and to
bring civil war in this country on instruction by imperialist business that
they visited in London.

"The ANCYL will fight tirelessly to block any attempts that seek to brew
civil war to this country."

Nzuza said imperialist forces that attacked Iraq and brought it war and
poverty were now fighting BRICS countries.

"We note that they are relentless in their quest to continue to be the
world's super power and they will stop at nothing," he said.

Meanwhile, ANC spokesperson Zizi Kodwa said the remarks by the EFF leader
were a call to violence, were inflammatory, treasonable and seditious and
should be treated with extreme seriousness.

"They also are in clear violation of the electoral code and the charter on
election ethics signed by a number of political parties, including the EFF,
last week. In signing this charter, parties committed to upholding and
promoting constitutional values.

"These reckless utterances display a shocking lack of judgment on the part
of the leadership of the EFF who have a duty, together with all political
parties, to ensure their membership abides with the laws of the land," he
said.

The South African Communist Party (SACP) said Malema's propagation of
unconstitutional change of a democratically elected government through war
was highly treasonous. SACP spokesperson Alex Mashilo said: "It will ruin
our beautiful country with bloodshed, and must be nipped in the bud.

The SACP "was fully behind the ANC" and the steps it has taken yesterday to
lay charges with the police in Johannesburg against Malema.

"The police must act swiftly and defend the rule of democratic law."
