Morning Star.png Plea for SA Food Workers to Stick with COSATU The Morning Star, London, 23 August 2013 The liberation movement urged the Food and Allied Workers Union (FAWU) congress yesterday to reject attempts to split union federation COSATU. The South African Communist Party teachers' union Sadtu and police and prisons union POPCRU called on FAWU leaders and delegates to stand firm. FAWU supported sacked COSATU general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi and expelled metalworkers' union NUMSA but has stopped short of their attempts to found a rival federation.
