I'm of the view that the only way introspection is if we start with respecting structures. Paul is not saying what the purpose of the consultative conference would be besides dealing with a 'crisis'. The SACP speaks of an early conference to facilitate a leadership transition. The ANC Youth League speaks of an early conference to reflect on the electoral outcomes but they are firm that JZ mustn't be removed. #Occupyluthulihouse is a group of ANCYL leaders who were unable to ascend to leadership positions who are mainly disgruntled. They don't only want JZ removed but want to 'occupy' Luthuli House, which is nothing more than thuggery. So it's a potentially chaotic situation characterised by a "beauty contest" of leaders rushing to be elected - or selected.
