It reminds me of what blogshares.com has done. When users come across two urls that are synonymous, they can mark them as such, saying "x is an alternate for y." Moderators can then merge the two urls' records.

Personally, I think this is overkill for del.icio.us. people should just do away with 'www,' IMHO.
