Hi,

A collegue of mine bought a new shiny hp pavilion . It comes with an
intel sata controller :) .

So that gave some incentive and hands on experience .

You can get your hdds being recognized by adding the following options
to the boot commandline to the failsafe mode option noapic noacpi
acpi=off atapi_enabled=1

Hi!

I have the following entry in my menu.lst:

title Yoper Linux - - Failsafe
       root (hd0,0)
       kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.21_yos-5 ro root=/dev/sda1
suspend2=swap:/dev/sda2 ramdisk=16384 noapm showopts ide=nodma
nofscheck noapic noacpi acpi=off atapi_enabled=1
       initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.21_yos-5

(and grub is updated) but still, when I try to boot failsafe, it kernel panics.

I will have a look into it today and tomorrow and will come up with an
ISO soon. We're gonna need persistent testing for the rest of this
week. So please stay tuned and help us fixing this.

Looking forward to trying them out.

Petar.
