Microsoft MVPs (I'm one of them) were told by the folks at MacBU that the Home & Student SKU would not include a mail client. We raised a lot of concern, to put it very mildly, that this may upset users and all we could say beyond that was "You need to adjust your pricing or offer something more to warrant the exclusion of Outlook." This change in Office for Mac Home & Student version brings it more in line with its Office for Windows counterpart, which also excludes Outlook. Note that Microsoft still has not released retail pricing information for Office for Mac 2011 products. They've only released information about the upgrade through the Technology Guarantee. I'm not going to say the following is good or bad, but there are details and other differences to note: 1) Keep in mind that this is an Marketing special. For the current price, users will get both Office 2008 and Office 2011 for the price of just Office 2008. 2) Office 2011 Home & Student will be sold as a "Family Pack". I can't find details for what that means, but if this is like Apple's Family Pack products, this will allow for installation on up to five computers. 3) Office 2011 Home & Business will be sold as a "2 Pack". Office 2008's license allowed an installation on one Desktop and one portable machine but not for concurrent usage. My interpretation of a "2 Pack" means that you will now be allowed concurrent usage. I strongly urge you to read the FAQ page here <https://www.techg.arvatousa.com/OfficeMacTechG/FAQ.aspx> because it is the most comprehensive information I've seen yet. We'll get something up on the Entourage Help Blog that will hopefully make this information more digestible. -- William Smith -- YouTalk mailing list List information: http://www.entourage.mvps.org/support_options/list.html List moderator: [email protected], [email protected] To unsubscribe: mailto:[email protected]?subject=unsubscribe
