Precisely correct. I don't need or want Exchange capabilities (and I don't
need/want Messenger, and I also don't need a family pack -- all I need is
single-user Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Further, under the current offer, how do we know that buying Office 2008
with a "free" upgrade to Office 2011 is actually a deal, when we don't know
what the price for Office 2011 will be?? This is surely an MS attempt at a
last minute boost to Office 2008 sales, and to also tout a high volume of
initial Office 2011 orders, but is this offer of any real value to
end-users?? Will Office 2011 on its own cost more or less than this offer??
Also, does anyone know if Outlook might be offered as a standalone app??
