The short version is I managed to screw-up my Entourage database
but thank to good tips from Diane I was able to recover.

I had just done a Time Machine backup and I remembered to run
the quit_all_Microsoft_Applications and and even double checked
using the Activity Monitor to be sure nothing (like the Microsoft
Database Daemon) was running.

I was in process of deleting the Deleted Items when I realized I
was in my Sent Items folder rather than the trash can folder. I
tired stop the deletion and managed to crash Entourage 2008. I
did a Mac restart it was pretty obvious I had screwed up my
database file.

I quit all Microsoft applications, and double checked that the daemon
was not running. Opened the Time Machine and had it do a Restore
on the Database file. It took a few minutes due to the 2.6 GB size of
my database. I used the Time Machine replace option and after a
restart my Entourage was back in in good shape like nothing had
happened.

Diane, thanks again for the good tips how to properly use the
Time Machine.
