Thanks to everyone for help on this.

I actually found some software that is very helpful with this that I wanted to pass on. Exact Audio Copy has several ways to fix this problem.  There is a utility to "Remove Gaps from TAO Images."  And there is also a WAV file editor that will remove leading and/or ending silence from tracks.  If nothing else, this is a great program to analyse tracks and correct errors prior to burning discs.  And best of all, it doesn't cost anything.

Find the software here:    http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/

I use Adobe Audition to remove the gaps that are burned in the tracks.
Open the track, go to the beginning or end of the track and enlarge it to the point of seeing a flat line at the end (or beginning), then select the flat line, delete it and then save the track.
Hope that helps ya!

I use Nero-(one of the newer ones with dvd burn capabilities)---there's a couple of ways to get where ya wanna go---there's a one click option in the right handed sidebar one can use--also, in older versions of Nero (not sure about the newer varieties), it's something you have to do track by track & eliminate--- right click on the song & go to properties; adjust the time-gap to 0 instead of the standard 2 second break inbetween tracks---that might get ya somewhere---I hope I'm correct & helpful---can anyone verify this as to how accurate I am?---john in kansas

On the Mac side of things, I use Peak (which comes bundled with Toast).  Again, it's a straight digital editing program, not a one-click operation.  But you want that versatility lest you accidentally edit what's supposed to be a break anyway  (e.g., Don't You Ever Wash That Thing?).

There are probably a few different ways / programs that would work...
I use a music editing program (SoundForge) to do it; it's not a one-point-click deal, in my case, I have to delete them one at a time. But it works well...

I have a question for the group that hopefully someone can answer:

Is there some software that works to remove gaps from discs that were burned DAO?  I have a number of CD-Rs of live material that I suspect someone burned as Track-At-Once, and they now have annoying pauses between tracks.  I'm hoping there is a way to fix this, other then recopying the discs from the original CD source.  Anybody?

Jim L, you seem to know a lot about this - What's the dealio?  Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
John K
