Mel,

You say, ' Zen does not speak of progress, or goals'

Then why do you sit zen? You are better off at an orgyhouse. That is a place
you have no progress or goals.

Anthony's post below was obviously not directed at me, but I'd like to add my
thoughts on the matter

I can see you progressing, although I am way behind.

Bill may say yours is Zen Buddhism, not pure zen. Do you care?

MEL: Zen Buddhism, zen, or Zen are just words that aren't worth getting too
obsessed about. It's the same with such things as progress..or goals

MEL: Purity in thought..this  moment..and the next...and the next...and so on...

Have you ever noticed that in these moments there is nothing that you can say
is 'me'; that they are only moments, so therefore impermanent; and that to try
to attach to them ultimately leads to suffering (because there is, in actual
fact, nothing to attach to)?

MEL: You are quite right. Truly your statement above is one of those things
that makes zen/Zen what it is

My experience of each moment was akin to the unfolding of something good, and
wonderful...with each moment being different. There were no issues with the
'me'(I had no time to think of the 'me') or working the brain too much with any
particular moment, as I was enjoying myself too much..going from one moment to
the next

Buddha be praised
