I stand corrected but I think that you get the gist of it. That beat tone is what they are touting as being able to synch up your brain waves. If Theta waves are produced by the brain during deep meditation than I'd say their product is relegated to Crystal Healing, Aura Reading and Fortune Telling but if Theta waves produced by the brain induce Deep Meditative states then maybe there is something there. The "pulse" is called the "beat" tone, ...having nothing to do with Beatniks. As the two tones come closer together, the beat REDUCES in frequency. When the two tones match, we have what we call in Physics, "zero-beat", or "zero-beating". It's an excellent "null-test" of equivalence of frequency. This is a way of tuning a guitar or cello or violin or Ukelele with a tuning fork. I tune all of mine this way.
