Net Siska,

The respect given to Encik is from local Malays who learned a lot of technology
of rubber planting from the Hokkian encik, I think.

As regards diet, I am fond of babi, also OK with kambing and daging. Do you
know what is 'pohong'? If you are from Jakarta, you don't know. It can be made
into delicious tapee wine. If you are a vegetarian, I respect you. However, you
should remember Thai Buddhist monks eat a lot of meat, so did Sakyamuni in his
time. He says you should eat whatever food offered by devotees.

Encik (with Hokkian style respect),

Never heard of 'net' before...

Uhhmm I'm not really fond of that either :-p

If it's alright to be curious, how is your diet? How do you be mindful when it
comes to choices...

Siska,

I remember 'om' is the Dutch word for 'uncle', also with respect. The opposite
is 'net' or something like that, for nephew or niece.

I you don't like shrimp, I offer khao phad mu. Ada babi.

Encik

Hi Uncle,

People here are too busy with zen, no time for history.

Thanks, sounds like it's something with shrimp. Maybe I'd skip the shrimp?

In Indonesia, we don't use the term Encik. Instead we say "Om", which I believe
is a Dutch word with same meaning.

Siska

Siska,

Unfortunately I cannot exchange the words, so I prefer to go see an authority,
as those on this forum are quiet with no answer. But I offer you Thai khau phad
gong, which is as good as nasi goreng.

Encik

Please note the Hokien word encik has become an honorific title in Malaysia
worthy of a lot of honor.

Hi Uncle,

Maybe you can exchange the word "zen" with "history". Now you have too much
history and too little zen.

You just saved money you'd otherwise have to spend for psychiatrist advice.
Maybe you can buy me a lot of chicken rice with that saving...

Siska

Siska,

Uncle needs psychiatrist advice, because of too much zen and too little history.

Siska,   I forgot something. Sakyamuni also came to Indonesia, where he met
and scolded the previous lives of Bill! and Edgar, for not paying respect to
karma.   Uncle

If history is fiction and illusion, I can say Sakyamuni was born in Africa
and fought war with American Indians before he became Buddha. Buddha itself is
illusion after all.   Anthony

  Edgar,

I agree, but I accepted the graphics 'History is a fiction...' as being the
same thing as 'history is an illusion'.

I was feeling generous...Bill!
