Dear Sir,

Please note according to Bhagawan Ramana Maharishi, ‘I’ is all. This
‘I’ he refers to pure consciousness.

Consciousness in you is the watcher of the mind. Try to meditate over
it. Anger comes: who is watching? You know perfectly well that there
is anger; you know perfectly well that it is coming and growing, you
know perfectly well that soon you will be overwhelmed by it. And then
it is going, receding, disappearing, you know it is gone. Gone, gone,
gone, it is no more there. Who is watching?

Love comes and goes. Misery comes, happiness comes, everything comes
and everything goes. Who is watching? The watcher remains.

Only one thing in you is constant, and that is the watcher. Everything
changes, only the watcher abides. It is always there, even while you
are deeply asleep it is watching the dreams; even when there are no
dreams it is watching the deep sleep.

When you are awake it is watching the world, when you are asleep it is
watching your inner world, but the watching continues. Not even for a
single moment does the watching stop. That is the eternal thing in
you. And it is one.

This watcher in you is what referred as consciousness or ‘I’ as
mentioned by Ramana Maharishi. This consciousness if compared to
things which you know, then it is ‘space’. Look at the space it is
everywhere in the universe it is same and one single thing, and it
contains many objects.

So according to Ramana Maharishi, you are not the body like earth, you
are the space on which this earth moves. So can space has any
difference such as my space against your space, it is one indivisible
all over universe.

So according to Ramana Maharishi the body of guru is just like you and
me or any other body, so it should be treated equal. Guru is not that
body, he is pure consciousness or space or this whole universe, which
you don’t realize and try to bribe this guru body, which is a kind of
cheating you are doing for yourself. By shouting at your ignorance he
is trying to wake you to see he is not the body.

Yesterday I had dream. I was on a ship, ship was close to a Port, I am
like one of the passenger or officer a 'body’ was identified as ‘I’,
and a captain on board doing difficult maneuver, and suddenly ship
capsized, all are shouting, but it happened to me that identification
with a body was no more there, I was sheer watching all happening from
the above. After some time I got up and shocked, then I realized this
is what truth is. The pure consciousness is what ‘I’ is. The body is
small tool in the hands of consciousness, it can be without it.

Best regards
Suresh
