Hi Emilio / Laura

Just an update from yesterday with the farm not servicing traffic...
Laura asked me to check the connections.. what I found was that the
Zenloadbalancer.log had the following lines immediately following the issue:-
Tue Feb 21 09:55:58 2012 - * - 192.168.10.134 - admin - loading default view
Tue Feb 21 09:56:09 2012 - * - 192.168.10.134 - admin - running
'/usr/local/zenloadbalancer/app/pen/bin/penctl 127.0.0.1:15185 clients_max'
Tue Feb 21 09:56:12 2012 - * - 192.168.10.134 - admin - running
'/usr/local/zenloadbalancer/app/pen/bin/penctl 127.0.0.1:15185 clients_max'

It appears that I have maxed out my connections, but when I checked the GUI:
Active Connections = 467 / Farm Max connections = 500 (each server was capped
at 100 connections, now set at 200)

So I was close but not at the limit - I wonder if my application is opening
multiple connections for each user? I have increased the Max Farm Connections
to 1000 now, and the farm became available again. I tried to view the historic
graphs, but following the Farm change, the graphs appear to reset to zero. If
their a better way to view historic usage, so should I just keep an eye on the
graphs? (I offered an enhancement previously to request putting the graphs
from each Farm in a different window/drop down - this would also make this
process easier).
Is it possible to tell if the Farm limit is reached OR the individual real
server limit is reached?

I still have IP persistence ticked, 2049 clients, for 60 seconds - as during
each session I need to ensure that the client hits the same server, this is
actually PNagent (a Citrix XenApp service which runs on each client machine and
connects periodically to the Citrix backend to verify available applications).
The Agent has only a short connection time, but may well create multiple
simultaneous connections.

I will continue to monitor, and if OK, I will move back to the PEN Binary from
v2rc2 (tomorrow).

Thanks again for your help.
Nick
