Hi Laura
To do this, do I just blank the Farm value: Max number of simultaneous
connections that manage in Virtual IP
AND
Blank the per Real Server: Max connections
Both or just one?
Thanks
Nick

Thank you Nick for the details.
I would like to do some test in our lab.
Meanwhile, could you disable the Max Connections value for every backend?
Regards,
Laura.

Hi Emilio
Just an update following the weekend.. On Friday I disabled FarmGuardian on the
Farm which appeared to be causing issues (Citrix-443) This is a standard TCP
farm on port 443. Since the change, the farm has been working fine, but it has
been quiet over the weekend, not so much traffic. I will keep you posted over
the next day or two as to the performance.
Great, we added to our TODO list the farmguardian modification code to optimize
the functionality.
Unfortunately, today I saw an issue with my SMTP Farm not passing data. Below
is the current config and the Farm Graphs, the good news for you is that
stopping and starting the Farm enabled the transfer of data, without pressing
'Failover'. Bad news, is that this behaviour is very odd - almost like one of
my Farms is randomly stopping? When I try to view the Log file for more than
100 lines eg. 500, I get various lengths - sometimes only a few lines other
times lots and lots. I end up using VI to view the logs. :(
About this error we need more inf Nick, the next time please :
from command line try to do a smtp connection example:
telnet 192.168.1.43 25
helo host
mail from: myaccount
rcpt to: myaccount
data
test
.
>From the same network, without firewalls please, you can do this from zlb host
Also try to connect from zlb to backends and do the same telnet test
We have to find if the problem is in zlb or backends
Also you can try to up the value in "backends response timeout".
Think that if there is some problem in your backends, your zlb is going to
reflect it. About your restarts, If you restart the farm then locked
connections are going to be liberalized (from backends and zlb), this mean that
you first should study the problem to find where is the origin.
Certainly I think that this problem is more in your backends, because this farm
is working without too many connections like we can see in the graphs.
